Chicago Piano Tuners, led by Caleb Crockett, is launching the School Tuning Program. Beginning April 2, 2018, the service provides piano tuning services to Chicago schools at all levels at a discounted rate.
“At Chicago Piano Tuners, we believe in the value of music, especially for students. We understand that schools need to make the most of what they already have, and that includes keeping existing pianos working the best that they possibly can. Just one functional piano can make lessons possible for music and choral students, keeping them off the streets, while at the same time stimulating their minds in ways classroom work does not. Our School Tuning Program is a win-win for students, teachers, and neighborhoods,” says Crockett, “We know that school and classroom schedules can be hectic, and we can make ourselves available at the specific times of the day that work for teachers, so that you don’t have to spend any more of their valuable time than absolutely necessary.”
The pilot program was launched at Kennedy High School with much success. Teachers and students alike are eager to learn about musical instruments and Crockett provides expert insight for those with an affection for the piano.
As a piano technician, Crockett works with musicians, teachers, professors, piano dealers, and more to keep pianos in tune and in proper working order. He has worked on thousands of pianos from spinets to concert grands.
For more than 15 years, Caleb Crockett has been servicing pianos with a mission of making Chicago music sound just a little bit better, one piano at a time. He is excited to be partnered with schools to share his love of this important instrument.
